Garnering acclaim with health-enhancing food

HAIYAKU specialises in traditional health-enhancing food made from ingredients with healing effects. The name is a combination of Haibara-ku, a district famous for its rows of shops handling medicinal herbs, and the Japanese term yakkyoku meaning “pharmacy”. The menu items are all invented by the owner, who meticulously studied this unique genre of Korean cuisine. Each creation is centered on the Korean philosophy of maintaining the balance between yin and yang, as well as balancing the five elements of nature: metal, wood, fire, water, and earth. Medicinal herbs are used discreetly, as their scent may be discomforting to some when employed in abundance, and nutrition-packed ingredients such as ginseng, pine nuts, and jujube are added to restore the balance of the body. Thanks to such efforts, HAIYAKU is rapidly expanding its fan base among Japanese locals who care deeply about beauty and health care.

Collagen-rich samgyetang

HAIYAKU showcases four prix-fixe options. Among them, the Special Prix-Fixe Meal is particularly attention-grabbing, as patrons can receive consultations from the staff, all of whom are knowledgeable in the different physical constitutions described in Oriental medicine, and receive personalised courses with ingredients that are most agreeable with their individual constitutions. The Beautifying Prix-Fixe Meal is highly popular among female patrons, as it consists of ingredients known to have detoxifying effects, and thus help to achieve samgyetang, rich in a fine complexion. The most accessible menu item here is collagen. Chicken, hard-boiled for nine hours with various ingredients, is both tender and juicy. The restaurant also offers an extensive list of health-boosting beverages, such as Oriental herb tea that adds moisture to skin, the fragrant quince tea, and the exquisite ginseng tea.
